Complete Health Profile: This includes patient health history, current lifestyle and general social determinants of health. If there is an outstanding health challenge that requires physician input, we will reach out to your practice for insights.
Initial Consultation: Patient/Client meets with one of our coaches to determine appropriate dietary pathway:
Clinical Nutritional Ketosis: Carbohydrates are therapeutically reduced to allow for transition to ketosis with no discomfort, known to many as "keto-flu". (Such occurrences, while temporary indicate, the need for oversight.)
Low Carb/Flex Approach: The Low Carb/Flex program is designed for individuals with Type II diabetes that are currently being managed with insulin injections. It is also useful for GLP-1 patients, and those with lifestyle habits and dietary aversions (ex. Excessive soda or fast food consumption, challenges with vegetable consumption, etc.).
Weekly Health Monitoring: Patient/Clients are scheduled for weekly 15 minute appointments (in-person or telehealth)
In-office body composition analysis is tracked to ensure lean mass preservation and appropriate improvements in biometrics.
Clients complete food journaling. We focus is on ensuring proper nutrition intake, structure, education, and new healthy habit formation.
Purchase of Ideal Protein high-biological value proteins and supplement their intake with whole foods.
Compulsory micronutrient supplementation to assist in replacing what is lost via weight reduction.
Regular communication to referring physician:
We communicate improvements in biometrics, and coordinate return visits to their managing physician every four weeks or loss of 20 pounds, to ensure continuity of care, medication deprescribing, pertinent lab work.
Typically by weeks 10-12, clients have hit 10% reduction in body weight and also have reduced inflammatory markers. The nutritional habits and education that have been practiced gives a clearer understanding of how their body responds to macronutrient consumption. With your advisement, they have the option to continue with further goal setting or begin moving into the next stage of Stabilization. We reduce our protein products and requirements and replace with whole foods. This process takes an additional few weeks.
